Coal India Commissions First Phase of 300 MW Khavda Solar Project in Gujarat.

Coal India Limited (CIL) has received the commissioning certificate dated July 15, 2026, from the Gujarat Energy Development Agency (GEDA) for 200 MW of solar power capacity developed as part of its 300 MW solar power project at Khavda, Gujarat.

The certification marks the operationalisation of a major portion of the solar project, strengthening Coal India’s renewable energy portfolio as the company expands its presence in clean energy.

The Khavda solar project is part of Coal India’s broader efforts to diversify its energy portfolio and contribute to India’s renewable energy expansion goals.
