Colombo: BPS plans 72 development projects

Colombo: The Jathika Saviya Maga Neguma programme is to get a further boost with the Bulathkohupitiya Pradeshiya Sabha(BPS)proposing to launch development activities in 27 Grama Niladhari divisions. The proposal was to initiate work on 72 projects in the provision of infrastructure for rural localities.

This development work would be initiated under the first phase of the development programme.
Work on byroads and minor roads in remote villages commenced recently. Construction of sidewalls, bridge railings and culverts are also in progress.
Rs. 60 million has been allocated for the 72 projects proposed and more funds would be allocated according to the needs based on the principle 'Let us develop the country through the uplift of the village and rural masses.'

Work on these 72 projects are to be completed during the course of this year.
