Commissioner of Railway Safety to inspect Tiruchi-Manapparai second line.

With track doubling work in the Tiruchi-Manapparai broad gauge section completed, the Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS), Southern Circle Bengaluru, Sathish Kumar Mittal will start a two-day inspection on the newly laid second line.

Accompanied by top officials of the Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) and Madurai Railway Division, Mr. Mittal will commence his inspection from Tiruchi Junction travelling on a motor trolley morning.

He will inspect the newly laid track in the 36-km section besides inspecting bridges and level-crossings en-route, railway sources said.

A high-speed trial run on an Inspection Special train between Samudram and Tiruchi Junction on January 29 will form part of the inspection.

The high-speed trial run will be conducted between noon and 5 p.m., a Southern Railway release said.

The RVNL is executing the track doubling project from Villupuram to Dindigul (273 km).
