CONCOR Teams Up with GAIL for LNG Dispensing Station Near Ahmedabad.

The Container Corporation of India Ltd (CONCOR) and GAIL (India) Ltd have entered into a 15-year agreement to establish a state-of-the-art Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) dispensing station at CONCOR’s Inland Container Depot (ICD) in Khodiyar, Ahmedabad.

Under the agreement, GAIL will have exclusive operational control of the facility and will invest in developing the retail LNG outlet infrastructure. CONCOR will provide a 3,000-square-metre dedicated land parcel within its high-traffic Ahmedabad terminal, along with necessary utility connectivity, the company said in a regulatory filing.

As part of the partnership, CONCOR will deploy a dedicated fleet of 15 LNG-powered commercial vehicles from the first year of the contract.

The multi-modal LNG facility will operate round the clock, providing cleaner fuel solutions for CONCOR’s logistics fleet as well as other commercial vehicles in the open market. The initiative is aimed at promoting the use of LNG in transportation and supporting lower-emission logistics operations.
