Coromandel International Launches Soil and Leaf Testing Lab in Kakinada.
Coromandel International Limited, a leading agri-inputs company, has inaugurated a state-of-the-art Soil and Leaf Testing Laboratory at its plant in Kakinada. The facility is designed to provide comprehensive soil and plant nutrient analysis, enabling farmers across India to better understand their soil composition and nutrient requirements.
The laboratory leverages automated systems integrated with Salesforce CRM to streamline soil testing requests and deliver detailed test reports. Farmers receive personalized, data-driven recommendations directly on their mobile phones. These insights are further connected to the Gromor Nutri Advisory Portal, which offers stage-wise fertilizer recommendations tailored to the specific soil and crop needs.
“This initiative empowers farmers to make informed decisions about agricultural inputs, promoting sustainable practices while preserving soil health for future generations,” said a senior executive from Coromandel International.
The laboratory features cutting-edge technology, including Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectroscopy (ICP-OES) for precise nutrient detection and Energy Dispersive X-ray Fluorescence (ED-XRF) for advanced leaf nutrient analysis. “By providing soil and leaf test-based fertilizer recommendations, we enable farmers to adopt precise, region-specific, and crop-specific practices,” said S Sankarasubramanian, Managing Director and CEO of Coromandel International.
The facility was inaugurated by Arun Alagappan, Executive Chairman, and S Sankarasubramanian, further emphasizing the company's commitment to supporting sustainable agriculture through innovation and technology.
