Craftsman Automation Begins Commercial Operations at New Hosur Facility.

Craftsman Automation Ltd, a Coimbatore-based manufacturer of automotive and industrial components, has officially started commercial operations at its new facility located in the SIPCOT Industrial Park, Shoolagiri, Hosur.

Announced earlier in January, the new plant represents a ₹150 crore investment aimed at expanding the company’s aluminium product capacity in southern India — a region home to several major two-wheeler and passenger car Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).

At the time of the announcement, the company noted that its existing plants were operating at approximately 75% utilisation. The new facility is expected to improve production efficiency while maintaining proximity — within 100 to 150 km — to key OEM clients.

The expansion is being funded primarily through term loans, which will cover 90% of the investment, with the remaining capital drawn from internal accruals.
