Crompton Plans ₹375 Crore Mega Fan Manufacturing Facility in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Ltd is planning to establish a major manufacturing facility in Hyderabad with an investment of around ₹375 crore, strengthening Telangana’s position as a growing hub for consumer electrical and appliance manufacturing.

The Telangana government has allotted approximately 50 acres at E-City in Maheshwaram, near Hyderabad International Airport, for the proposed greenfield project. The facility is being positioned as one of the world’s largest fan manufacturing plants and is expected to have an annual production capacity of about 1.4 crore units when fully operational.

Development is planned in phases. The first phase will focus on induction and energy-efficient BLDC ceiling fans, as well as table, wall and pedestal fans. In the subsequent phase, Crompton proposes to expand manufacturing to pumps and mixer grinders, along with setting up a centralised motor plant.

The project is expected to generate about 3,500 direct employment opportunities, including approximately 500 managerial positions and 3,000 semi-skilled jobs. Groundbreaking is expected around Vijayadashmi, with operations targeted to commence next year.

The Hyderabad project represents a significant expansion of Crompton’s domestic manufacturing footprint. The company had earlier indicated plans to invest roughly ₹350 crore over the next two to three years in a next-generation greenfield manufacturing location with integrated warehousing.

The investment also adds another large-scale manufacturing project to Telangana’s industrial pipeline, with the Maheshwaram location providing proximity to Hyderabad’s airport and established industrial ecosystem.
