Hyderabad-based data centre giant, CtrlS Datacenters Ltd., has set the stage for a colossal expansion, as the company recently revealed its audacious $2-billion investment blueprint, scheduled to unfold over the next six years. This initiative will not only significantly boost the company's infrastructure but also generate job opportunities, with plans to hire over 1,000 employees during the investment phase.
CtrlS Datacenters currently operates 12 data centres with a collective capacity of 234 MW, strategically positioned in key locations including Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, and Noida.
In a statement, Sridhar Pinnapureddy, the Founder and Chairman of CtrlS Datacenters, underscored the mounting demand for AI and cloud-ready data centres, fueled by the increasing adoption of AI applications and cloud technologies. He revealed that CtrlS Datacenters intends to channel its investments into vital technologies and strategies, particularly in areas such as advanced cooling, power management, and overall infrastructure design for its forthcoming hyperscale data centres.
As part of its broader vision, CtrlS Datacenters has also unveiled plans to explore new international markets in South-East Asia and the Middle East, with operations scheduled to commence in 2023. This international expansion will include augmenting its capacity by approximately 350 MW across a mix of new and existing hyperscale and edge data centres within India and select South-East Asian regions.
In addition to its ambitious growth plans, the company is committed to environmental sustainability. CtrlS Datacenters is actively working towards achieving carbon neutrality by 2030, with a series of initiatives, including the establishment of 153-Megawatt Peak (MWp) solar projects across three markets, generating an annual energy output of 2,50,000-Megawatt Hours (MWh). One of these projects, a 145-MWp solar facility in Maharashtra, will be fully owned and operated by CtrlS Datacenters. Furthermore, the company aims to invest in an additional 300 MWp of solar projects by 2025.
