In a major push to strengthen aviation infrastructure in the Kashmir Valley, a new civil enclave will be developed at Srinagar International Airport at an estimated cost of ₹1,677 crore.

The proposed facility will be operated by the Airports Authority of India within the Budgam Airbase of the Indian Air Force (IAF), according to official details.

Designated as an international airport in 2005, the airport is located around 12 km from Srinagar city. The new civil enclave is expected to enhance passenger handling capacity and modernise infrastructure to meet growing air traffic demand in the region.
