"CtrlS to Invest ₹10,000 Crore in Building Data Centre Cluster"

The Telangana government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with CtrlS Data Centres Ltd in Davos soon to establish an AI-driven data centre cluster in the state, with an estimated investment of ₹10,000 crore. The project will involve a 400-MW capacity cluster and is expected to generate 3,600 direct and indirect jobs, according to Telangana Minister for IT and Industries, D. Sridhar Babu.

“This AI Data Centre Cluster will not only bolster the state’s IT capabilities but also create significant employment opportunities, contributing to our vision of inclusive growth,” Babu stated.

In addition, HCLTech, an IT services company, announced plans to expand its operations in Hyderabad. The announcement followed a meeting between Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Minister D. Sridhar Babu, and HCLTech’s Global CEO and Managing Director, C. Vijayakumar, at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos.

The new HCLTech centre, located in Hyderabad’s IT hub of Madhapur, will focus on providing cloud, AI, and digital transformation solutions to clients across industries such as hi-tech, life sciences, and financial services. The 3.20-lakh square feet facility will accommodate 5,000 IT employees. With this new addition, HCLTech’s footprint in Hyderabad will span five centres with a combined capacity of 8,500 seats. HCLTech first began its operations in Hyderabad in 2007.
