Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman officially inaugurated the ‘Cyient AI & Future Skills Hub’ recently in the West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh.
The initiative, spearheaded by the Cyient Foundation, is designed to modernize existing government infrastructure into a premier AI-enabled rural skilling and livelihood center. Located in Pedamainavani Lanka, the hub represents a significant step toward bridging the digital divide in rural India.
Empowering the Local Community
The center aims to foster economic growth by providing specialized training in emerging technologies. According to Cyient Founder B V R Mohan Reddy, the hub is built to be inclusive, targeting a wide demographic of the local population.
"The hub will equip youth, women, farmers, self-help groups, and local entrepreneurs with skills aligned to emerging workforce demands and local livelihood opportunities," Reddy stated during the launch.
Key Objectives of the Hub
Modernization: Transforming traditional government facilities into high-tech learning environments.
Digital Literacy: Integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into the rural workforce.
Economic Opportunity: Tailoring skill development to match both global industry trends and local entrepreneurial needs.
By focusing on "Future Skills," the facility seeks to ensure that the residents of West Godavari are not left behind in the rapidly evolving global tech landscape.
