Dakshina Kannada MP Advocates Port-Led Development for Karnataka's Growth.

Emphasizing the importance of port-led development for Karnataka’s overall growth, Dakshina Kannada Member of Parliament, Brijesh Chowta, called for greater collaboration among stakeholders to drive the state’s development.

Speaking at the inauguration of a workshop on ‘Maritime Adversities’, organized by the New Mangalore Port Authority (NMPA) in Mangaluru on Friday, Chowta highlighted how Gujarat’s success as a major trade hub under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership was driven by a strong focus on port-led development.

He stressed that port-led development unlocks the full potential of a region and can significantly boost Karnataka’s growth. Chowta also pointed out that the State government needs to prioritize this model for development, criticizing those in Bengaluru who either fail to understand or conveniently overlook its importance.
