Demo demanding opening of new subway staged.

People from different sections of the society staged a demonstration recently demanding the authorities to immediately open the newly constructed subway adjoining the road over bridge under construction on the Tiruvanaikoil Trunk road.

Residents, traders, representatives of farmers associations and auto drivers besides members of the Srirangam Makkal Nala Sangam took part in the demonstration held at Srirangam.

Condemning the delay in opening the subway which has almost been completed, the demonstrators urged the authorities to take steps to immediately open it keeping in mind the interests of all sections of the society.

School students, traders, general public and patients were facing lot of hardship every day due to the delay in opening the subway, said P. Karuppaiah, a resident of Tiruvanaikoil.
