"Denmark-based Baettr has begun expanding the production capacity of its wind turbine casting plant."

Danish renewable energy equipment manufacturer Baettr has broken ground on a major capacity expansion at its wind turbine casting facility in Tamil Nadu, according to a social media post by Guidance Tamil Nadu.

The facility is located within Baettr’s existing premises at the State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu Limited (SIPCOT) Industrial Park in Thervoy Kandigai, Gummidipoondi, near Chennai. The expansion will involve a capital investment of about ₹73 crore, raising the company’s total investment in the unit to approximately ₹280 crore.

Once completed, the project will significantly boost the plant’s licensed production capacity for saleable castings, increasing it from 27,500 tonnes per annum to 95,040 tonnes per annum—nearly a fourfold rise in approved capacity.

The expansion underscores Baettr’s growing manufacturing footprint in India and its focus on supporting the global wind energy supply chain.
