DMRC to help Noida Metro get its corridor on track.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is going to assist the Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) in operations and maintenance works of the upcoming Noida-Greater Noida corridor.

The two companies recently signed an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which also states that the DMRC will continue its assistance till three years after the commercial launch of the line. The construction work of the 29.7 km-long corridor is already being executed by the DMRC on behalf of the NMRC.

The structural work on the corridor, which will have 21 stations, is expected to be completed by March 2017.

“The assistance for Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services would be rendered during the pre-commercial operation period of the NMRC and three years post-commercial operation period too. The agreement may be extended after successful completion of three years of commercial operations by NMRC with mutual consent,” the DMRC said in a statement.

During the pre-commercial operation period of the NMRC, the permanent or contractual manpower requirements shall be advised and recruited by DMRC in consultation with NMRC. “This will be followed by commercial Operational training for the staff and formulation and implementation of train operation plan, station and revenue management etc. during the commercial operation period. The operation of Operation Control Centre and Depot shall also be supervised by DMRC for this period,” said a metro official.
