Kovai to host 500-acre industrial park.

The Coimbatore District Small Industries Association (Codissia) will open an industrial park that will be spread across a total area of 500 acres in two locations near the city in six months. This was announced by Codissia recently on the side lines of an exhibition. The park will cater to more than 250 industrial units.

'The park will be constructed in two places near the city,' said V Jagannathan, the financial director of the Industrial Park. The sites identified for the project are Vagarayampalayam and Kallapalayam located 20 kilometres from the city. The park is to become a 'green industrial belt' where energy saving and environment friendly measures are to be taken. This 225-crore project is to be operational in six months.
