DRA Infracon Secures ₹4,900 Crore BOT Toll Highway Project in Assam.

Ahmedabad-based Dineshchandra R Agrawal Infracon Pvt Ltd (DRA Infracon) has secured a ₹4,900 crore highway project in Assam under the Build, Operate, and Transfer (BOT) Toll model, emerging as the lowest bidder by offering to build the 121 km Guwahati Ring Road without any grant from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).

The project saw competition from a joint venture between Adani Group and Ashoka Buildcon, which sought a ₹135 crore grant, while Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd (RVNL) requested ₹370 crore from NHAI.

This marks one of the first major highway projects awarded on the BOT Toll model in over a decade. The NHAI revived the model with refinements to attract private investors after previously shifting to the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM) due to financial challenges faced by contractors in earlier BOT Toll projects.
