Eicher Motors Ltd. (EML) has approved an investment of ₹1,225 crore for the first phase of a new greenfield manufacturing facility in Andhra Pradesh, as the company looks to strengthen its production capacity to support long-term growth.
The company's board approved the investment on Wednesday for the Phase I expansion at Tada in Andhra Pradesh. Once fully operational, the new plant will have the capacity to produce an additional 4.5 lakh motorcycles annually.
According to the company, the planned capacity addition is expected to be completed during FY2029-30, subject to market conditions.
Announcing the investment, B. Govindarajan, Managing Director of Eicher Motors Ltd. and Chief Executive Officer of Royal Enfield, said the new facility is aimed at supporting the company's long-term growth strategy.
"To support our growth over the long term, we announced plans for a new greenfield manufacturing facility in Tada, Andhra Pradesh, to expand our capacity beyond the existing facilities in Tamil Nadu," Govindarajan said in a statement.
The expansion is expected to enhance Royal Enfield's manufacturing footprint and provide additional production capacity to meet future demand.
