EKI Energy Appointed Carbon Consultant for Methane Reduction Project in Varanasi.

EKI Energy Services (EKI) announced recently that it has been appointed as the carbon consultant for the Varanasi Smart City Bio-Conversion Project, a key initiative aimed at reducing methane emissions and promoting sustainable development.

The project, located in Shahanshahpur, Varanasi, uses advanced anaerobic digestion technology to convert approximately 70 tonnes of animal manure and organic waste daily into compressed biogas (CBG) and organic fertilisers.

According to EKI, the initiative has already made a significant environmental impact by avoiding 2,806 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent emissions during its first monitoring period. The project is a step forward in Varanasi’s efforts to enhance waste-to-energy solutions and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
