Eli Lilly to Establish New Capability Centre in Hyderabad.
Eli Lilly and Company has announced plans to establish a new global capability centre in Hyderabad, aiming to recruit over 1,000 highly skilled team members to strengthen its digital strategy and service delivery. The centre, named Lilly Capability Centre India (LCCI) Hyderabad, will be the company’s second capability centre in India, following its Bengaluru facility.
The Hyderabad centre will focus on enhancing Lilly’s capabilities in automation, artificial intelligence, software product engineering, and cloud computing, providing advanced technology solutions to support the company’s global business operations.
“Our teams in India play a pivotal role in driving Lilly’s global business support with centralized, scalable solutions. LCCI Hyderabad will enhance our technical capabilities, enabling us to better meet growing business demands and leverage technology to expand our presence in India,” said Manish Arora, Managing Director, LCCI Hyderabad.
The new investment was welcomed by Duddilla Sridhar Babu, Minister for Information Technology, Electronics & Communications, Industries & Commerce, and Legislative Affairs, Government of Telangana, who noted the growing reputation of Hyderabad as a hub for healthcare innovation and talent.
According to Diogo Rau, Executive Vice President and Chief Information and Digital Officer at Lilly, LCCI Hyderabad will bring together engineers across multiple disciplines to create cutting-edge technologies and tools to address some of the world’s most pressing health challenges.
LCCI Hyderabad will play a crucial role in scaling up Lilly’s innovation and efficiency, driving the delivery of next-generation medicines to patients globally by unlocking new technological advancements and leveraging data insights. The centre is set to hire 1,000 to 1,500 professionals, including technology engineers and data scientists, with recruitment already underway. The facility is expected to become operational by mid-2025.
