Emami Agrotech Eyes Packaged Snacks Segment with ₹750 Crore Expansion Plan.

Emami Group's food and agri-business arm, Emami Agrotech, recently announced its foray into India's ₹50,000-crore packaged snacking market and unveiled plans to invest around ₹750 crore over the next three years to expand its presence in the high-margin category.

The company aims to build its newly launched snacking brand, WeMe, into a ₹1,000-crore brand over the next five to seven years by targeting younger consumers, particularly Gen Z and Millennials.

India's packaged snacking market, led by chips, is expanding at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of more than 8 per cent and is projected to surpass ₹1 lakh crore by 2034, offering significant growth opportunities for new entrants.

The planned investment will be directed towards strengthening manufacturing capacity, product development, brand building, and distribution as Emami Agrotech seeks to establish a strong foothold in the rapidly growing snacks segment.
