EMC Ltd bags Rs. 776 crore contract from PGCIL

Power system solutions provider EMC Ltd said that it has bagged INR 776 crore contract from central transmission utility PowerGrid Corp for setting up a transmission link at Tuticorin, in Tamil Nadu.

An official statement said that 'EMC Ltd has bagged a contract of transmission line and sub station, together worth INR 776 crore, from Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd in Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu.”

Under the contract, EMC will supply, erect, test and commission a 765 kV double circuit transmission line worth INR 718 crore at Tuticorin within a period of 30 months.

It will also supply, erect, test and commission a 400-kV sub-station worth INR 58 crore, which has a contractual completion deadline of 24 months.

The 410 km long transmission line will be built between the Tuticorin Pooling Station and Salem Pooling Station, connecting the sub stations at Salem and Madhugiri and the proposed 400 kV sub station at Tuticorin.

EMC Ltd offers complete turnkey solutions for power transmission, distribution and balance of plant. It also manufactures towers, conductors, hardware accessories, etc.
