EPAM Strengthens India Presence with Third Office in Pune.

US-based digital transformation and product engineering firm EPAM has bolstered its presence in India by opening a new office in Pune. This marks the company’s third expansion in the country this year, following new facilities in Bengaluru and Chennai. India is EPAM’s second-largest delivery center globally.

EPAM initially entered the Indian market in 2015 through the acquisition of Alliance Global Services. Pune was one of the first locations established post-acquisition. Srinivas Reddy, Managing Director at EPAM India, highlighted the strategic importance of Pune, stating, “We are happy to be here with over 2,000 people. This new facility, spanning 30,000 square feet, reflects our collaborative approach with 200-plus seats and a large lab. Our policy remains hybrid.”

Located in Baner, the Pune office will serve as an offshore development center (ODC) for EPAM’s global clients. The company also operates centers in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Gurgaon.

EPAM’s India headcount, currently around 9,600, is expected to surpass 10,000 by Q1 2025, according to Jason Peterson, Chief Financial Officer. Pune, in particular, has seen accelerated growth due to its robust talent pool and expertise in financial services. “Pune has leveraged its availability of BFSI talent to support our work with banks and insurance companies, which now accounts for 25% of our global and Indian operations,” Reddy added.

EPAM reported $1.168 billion in revenues for Q3 2024, a 1.3% year-over-year increase. The company has raised its full-year revenue guidance to $4.685–$4.695 billion, with Q4 revenues projected between $1.205 billion and $1.215 billion.

As of September 30, 2024, EPAM’s total headcount stood at approximately 53,250, including 47,750 delivery professionals, a 1.6% increase from June 2024.
