Eveready Set to Dominate: Jammu Plant to Make It India's Sole Alkaline Battery Manufacturer.

Dry cell battery major Eveready Industries is poised to become the only domestic manufacturer of alkaline batteries in India, thanks to its upcoming greenfield plant in Jammu. The company anticipates commencing commercial operations at the new facility by the end of the current fiscal year.

"We will continue to strengthen our long-term competitive edge with the upcoming greenfield alkaline battery facility in Jammu - India's first of its kind," stated Eveready Industries Managing Director, Suvamoy Saha, in the company's annual report for fiscal year 2024-25. "On track for completion by end of FY25-26, this plant will position us as the only domestic manufacturer in this fast-growing segment."

This strategic expansion is expected to solidify Eveready's market position and capitalize on the increasing demand for alkaline batteries in the country.
