Facelift for Udupi and Surathkal railway stations.

Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd., (KRCL) has plans to improve the railway stations at Udupi and Surathkal.

While a second entry from the Manipal-side would be provided at Udupi, the existing entry and exit would be widened at Surathkal.

Interacting with presspersons recently, KRCL's chief public relations officer Vaishali Patange said platform 2 at Udupi is presently connected to platform 1 with a foot overbridge.

Since Manipal has been an educational hub and hundreds of passengers visit the town, the corporation has planned to open another entry and exit for Udupi station, she said. Ms. Patange said the provision for passenger-facilitation centre to offer tickets would be made too.
