Foundation stone laid for 2 Km road in Peshawar

Peshawar: The NWFP Minister for Sports, Culture and Tourism Syed Aqil Shah on Monday inaugurated the construction work of 2 kilometres road from Gulberg Railway crossing to Izat Khan Chowk in PF-4 Peshawar.

The scheme to be completed by Works and Services Department would cost Rs. 16.40 million. In this scheme, the construction of link roads, footpaths and drains is also included.

Nazim Mohammad Saeed Zahir, President ANP Gulberg Ward, Shaukat Khan, General Secretary Fazle Khaliq besides a large number of elites of the area were also present on the occasion. In his brief speech on the occasion, Provincial Sports Minister directed the concerned authorities to ensure the use of standard material in the developmental schemes. He also urged the people of the area to help in ensuring the use of standard material in the schemes through keeping vigilant eye over it. He asked them to report in time against the contractors using substandard material.

He said as these developmental schemes were completed through the taxes of the people therefore no compromise would be made in the regard of standard of the development schemes.
