Foundation stone laying for cancer centre soon.

Chief Minister Oommen Chandy will lay the foundation stone soon for the Rs. 482-crore cancer centre envisaged to come up at Kalamassery near the Government Medical College.

V.R. Krishna Iyer, the former Supreme Court judge, will be the special invitee at the function at 4 p.m. Health Minister V.S. Sivakumar will preside over the function while V.K. Ebrahim Kunju will inaugurate the public function on the occasion. Dr. V.P. Gangadharan, the special officer for the project, will read the report on the cancer centre with a built-up area of 5,700 square metres. The project will be executed by HSCC, a public sector hospital services consultancy unit.
