GACL Plans High-Purity Hydrogen Peroxide Facility in Gujarat for Chip and Solar Industries
Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals Limited (GACL) recently announced plans to set up a 5,000 tonnes per annum high-purity hydrogen peroxide plant at Dahej in South Gujarat, aimed at serving niche applications in the semiconductor and solar manufacturing value chain.
The company’s board has approved an estimated investment of ₹67 crore for the project. The facility will produce electronic-grade hydrogen peroxide, a critical chemical used in advanced electronics manufacturing processes.
The new plant is designed to meet growing demand from semiconductor fabrication units and solar cell manufacturers as India expands its domestic electronics and clean energy ecosystem. In a regulatory filing, GACL said the facility will enable production of high-purity hydrogen peroxide for applications in semiconductor fabrication, solar cell manufacturing and other advanced electronics segments where new manufacturing capacities are being developed in India.
