A joint venture of local firm Galfar Engineering with India's Larsen & Toubro has been awarded a contract worth 294 million rials ($763.6 million) to expand an Omani airport.
The contract at Salalah airport is to build a new terminal building, a runway, control tower, an apron and a hangar.

Last week, the US engineering firm Bechtel was awarded a 706 million rial contract to build a terminal building at Muscat airport in a joint venture with an Omani firm.
Oman is also building airports at Duqm, Ras Al-Hadd and Sohar.
