Gas distribution project may take longer.

Bangalore urban and rural districts may have to wait longer for the City Gas Distribution project, with one more extension of the bid deadline.

This, however, does not seem to have affected the determination and plans of the State government to take on-board its venture with GAIL India Ltd., a private partner.

Even while scouting for a partner who is willing to pick up 50 per cent stake, the Infrastructure Development Department is getting ready to register the company - in which KSIIDC and GAIL India Ltd. will split the remaining 50 per cent equity.

A proposal in this regard will be taken to the Cabinet, according to Vanditha Sharma, Principal Secretary of the department.
