Gensol Engineering Secures ₹600 Crore Contract for 116 MW Solar Projects in Gujarat.

Gensol Engineering Ltd has been announced as the winning bidder for a series of solar projects in Gujarat, totaling 116 MW (150 MWp), with an estimated EPC revenue of ₹600 crore. These projects, overseen by the state electricity distribution company Paschim Gujarat Vij Co. Ltd. (PGVCL), will be distributed across 27 different locations.

The solar projects are designed for feeder-level solarisation and are expected to be operational within 12 months from the issuance of the Letter of Award (LoA). The initiative focuses on solarising agricultural feeders, specifically those that are already segregated or primarily serve agricultural loads. The goal is to install grid-connected solar projects to meet the annual power requirements of these feeders.

Established in 2012, Gensol Engineering has carved a niche in the renewable energy sector, specializing in solar power engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services, as well as electric mobility solutions. The company has successfully executed over 770 MW of diverse solar projects across almost all states of India.

In addition to its core EPC services, Gensol Engineering recently expanded its portfolio by acquiring Scorpius Trackers in September 2023, enhancing its offerings in the renewable energy sector. Gensol has also established a state-of-the-art electric vehicle manufacturing facility in Chakan, Pune, with a capacity to produce 30,000 vehicles annually.
