"GG Tronics bags ₹433 crore Kavach order; Chittaranjan Locomotive Works awards major safety contract."

GG Tronics India Private Ltd (GGT), a subsidiary of CG Power and Industrial Solutions Ltd, has secured a ₹433 crore order from Chittaranjan Locomotive Works for the supply and deployment of Kavach, India’s indigenous train collision avoidance system.

The order is to be executed over a period of one year. It includes the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of on-board Kavach equipment on locomotives in line with specifications prescribed by the Research Designs and Standards Organisation (RDSO).

In addition, the contract provides for an annual maintenance contract (AMC) for 11 years, applicable from the fifth year onwards and priced at 3 per cent per annum, according to the company. The scope of supply also covers complete wiring, harnessing, cabling and integration with the locomotive Kavach system, the company said in a release.
