Goenka Family Launches University Project with ₹100 Crore Investment.

Essel Group Chairman Dr. Subhash Chandra and his brothers Laxmi Narain Goel, Jawahar Goel and Ashok Goel are set to establish an educational institution in memory of their father, Nand Kishore Goenka, in Agroha, Hisar.

The family will invest nearly ₹100 crore to develop the institution as a centre of excellence on 32 acres of family-owned land. The proposed university will offer a specialised curriculum focused on social service and the philosophy of giving back to society, the company said in a press release.

The Goenka family has entered into an agreement with the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII), Ahmedabad, to establish the university.

The announcement was made by Dr. Subhash Chandra after completing the last rites of his father in Hisar. Nand Kishore Goenka passed away in Mumbai on July 13 at the age of 96.
