Government Sanctions ₹14,115-Crore Highway Projects for Delhi and Uttar Pradesh.

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) recently approved two National Highway projects with a combined investment of ₹14,115 crore to improve urban mobility in Delhi and strengthen road connectivity in Uttar Pradesh.

The approved projects include the construction of a six-lane tunnel linking the Dwarka Expressway with Vasant Kunj in the national capital and a four-lane access-controlled Greenfield highway between Kanpur and Kabrai in Uttar Pradesh.

According to the government, the projects are aimed at easing traffic congestion in Delhi while enhancing connectivity along the Bhopal–Kanpur Economic Corridor.

The Centre said the highway projects are expected to improve travel efficiency, facilitate the movement of passengers and freight, and support regional economic development by strengthening key transport infrastructure.
