Govt to Build 292 Granaries.

The state government will construct 292 granaries with an estimated cost of Rs. 116 crore, IT minister KT Rama Rao said recently. The minister said lack of proper storage facilities have been hitting farmers badly.

The proposed granaries will be built on the premises of Indira Kranthi Pathakam Centres with available funds under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, he said.

'While there are a total of 997 IKP centres in the state, 292 granaries will be built this year and the remaining will be constructed in the next financial year, he said'.
