Gujarat Grants Tata Group 10 Acres for Housing in Dholera.

As construction progresses on Tata Electronics Pvt Ltd's (TEPL) inaugural semiconductor fabrication unit within the Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR), the Gujarat government has allocated 10 acres of land to the Tata Group for the development of residential apartments for its employees and workers. Dholera SIR is strategically located approximately 110 km from Ahmedabad city.

"The government has given 10 acres to Tata Group for developing their own housing complex. Initially, they will build more than 500 apartments," stated Mona Khandhar, Principal Secretary, Science and Technology Department, Gujarat Government. Khandhar emphasized that adequate housing and social infrastructure are crucial for the development of Dholera SIR, which is envisioned as a greenfield smart city within the Ahmedabad district.

Beyond the land provided to the Tata Group, the Dholera Industrial City Development Ltd (DICDL) has also successfully auctioned plots to private developers. These plots are intended for the construction of an additional 1,000 service-apartments in the sparsely populated, flat coastal plains of the region.
