Healthcare Giant Manipal Adds 11 Hospitals via Sahyadri Acquisition.

Manipal Hospitals has finalized the acquisition of Sahyadri Hospitals, previously owned by the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan (OTPP). This strategic move significantly expands Manipal's footprint, particularly in Western India, and solidifies its position as one of the nation's largest hospital networks.

The acquisition brings an additional 11 hospitals into the Manipal fold, located across key cities including Pune, Nashik, Ahilya Nagar, and Karad. This expansion increases Manipal's total hospital count to 49 facilities and boosts its bed capacity to approximately 12,000, reinforcing its extensive reach in the Indian healthcare landscape.

Dilip Jose, MD & CEO, Manipal Health Enterprise, expressed enthusiasm about the new addition. "We are delighted to welcome Sahyadri Hospitals into the Manipal family, with its top-rated multi-specialty facilities," Jose stated. He further emphasized, "With the strong partnership of our valued stakeholders like Temasek and our other investors, we are excited to grow our operations and bring Manipal’s trusted brand of quality healthcare to many more patients."

This acquisition underscores Manipal Hospitals' aggressive growth strategy and its commitment to providing comprehensive healthcare services across diverse regions of India.
