Hero MotoCorp Plans ₹1,500 Crore FY27 Investment to Boost Scooter, EV Portfolio.

Hero MotoCorp recently said it will invest more than ₹1,500 crore in capital expenditure during FY27 to strengthen its product portfolio and expand manufacturing capacity, particularly in the scooter and electric vehicle (EV) segments under its Vida brand.

The country’s largest two-wheeler maker said it enhanced its portfolio during the year with nine new launches and several product refreshes across both internal combustion engine (ICE) and EV categories. The company added that its expanded line-up in motorcycles and scooters helped it gain market share in the 100cc and 110cc segments across ICE and EV products.

Speaking during a post-earnings call with analysts, Chief Executive Officer Harshavaradhan Chitale said the company recorded growth across multiple segments, including entry-level motorcycles, scooters, global operations and the premium 400cc–500cc range through its partnership with Harley-Davidson.

Chitale said the planned FY27 investment would focus on expanding scooter production capacity, driven by strong demand for several models, while continuing investments in EVs and other growth segments.
