HFCL Bags ₹10,159-Crore Global Contract to Supply Optical Fibre Cables for 5 Years.
HFCL recently announced that it has entered into a five-year agreement with a global municipal corporation for the supply of high-quality, high-fibre-count optical fibre cables (OFC), with a potential value of about $1.10 billion (₹10,159 crore) based on prevailing selling prices.
In a stock exchange filing, the company said a minimum quantity of multi-million fibre kilometres (fkm) of OFC will be supplied each calendar year from CY26 to CY28. The agreement will automatically extend for two additional years-CY29 and CY30-while purchase orders will be released periodically during the contract period depending on project-specific and technical requirements.
The company said the deal marks the first time it has entered into a long-term, multi-year OFC supply arrangement tailored to a customer’s specifications.
Under the agreement, a wholly owned subsidiary of HFCL will also be eligible to supply optical fibre cables to the customer’s authorised affiliates and assignees.
