H&H Aluminium Opens Cutting-Edge Solar Frame Facility in Gujarat, Featuring Chinese Technology.
H&H Aluminium Pvt Ltd has officially launched "India's largest aluminium solar frame manufacturing plant" in Rajkot, Gujarat, a significant step towards indigenous production of solar mdule components. The facility, built with an investment of ₹150 crore, aims to tackle India's reliance on imported solar frames by matching the quality and pricing of Chinese-made products.
The new plant, boasting a formidable 24,000 tonnes per annum capacity, was inaugurated on Friday in Ahmedabad by Gujarat BJP President and Union Jal Shakti Minister, CR Patil.
"Our initial target is to meet the quality provided by China," stated Uttam Patel, director of H&H Aluminium Pvt Ltd. Patel highlighted that quality and pricing have historically hindered domestic production of aluminium solar frames. "The quality (of domestic production) is not at par with that of China," he added.
While the goal is to indigenously manufacture the frames, the company has incorporated a strategic approach by importing its entire production line, including crucial aluminium extrusion presses and anodizing lines, from China. Patel explained that these large-scale machineries are not currently manufactured in India.
Spread over 28,000 square meters in Chibhda village, the plant commenced trial production in June 2025 and is anticipated to begin commercial production within the next month. At full capacity, H&H Aluminium expects the plant to generate sales of ₹700-750 crore annually, significantly contributing to India's solar manufacturing ecosystem.
