Himachal Dairy Sector Set for Growth After NDDB MoU.
The Himachal Pradesh government recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) to boost the state’s dairy sector. Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said the move will enhance milk processing capacity and create new employment opportunities for farmers.
The signing ceremony, held in Shimla, marked a step toward introducing world-class technology in milk processing and related bio-products, while upgrading the state’s dairy infrastructure.
“We had earlier reached an understanding with NDDB in 2023 to develop the Dagwar dairy project. The first MoU focused on bringing advanced technology for milk processing and bio-products. This new MoU is aimed at running the Dagwar plant efficiently and strengthening milk processing units with computerized quality control,” Sukhu said.
