Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu convened a meeting with the MLAs of Solan district recently at his official residence, Oakover, to review ongoing developmental projects and discuss future initiatives for the district's growth, as per a statement from the Chief Minister's office.
The meeting focused on gathering detailed feedback from the MLAs about the progress of various development schemes in their respective Assembly constituencies. CM Sukhu underscored the importance of innovation in new projects, advocating for their design from a "Green State" perspective to ensure sustainability.
The Chief Minister highlighted that the state government is implementing several ambitious welfare schemes aimed at the overall development of Himachal Pradesh. He urged the MLAs to make continuous and meaningful efforts to ensure the maximum number of residents benefit from these initiatives.
CM Sukhu also discussed the government's commitment to strengthening the rural economy, with new schemes and programs being rolled out in rural areas. He emphasized the need for public awareness to ensure people take advantage of these schemes. Reflecting on Solan district’s vital role in the state's economy, the Chief Minister reaffirmed the state government's dedication to ensuring its comprehensive development.
The meeting was attended by MLAs Ram Kumar Chaudhary, Sanjay Awasthi, Vinod Sultanpuri, and Hardeep Singh Bawa.
In related news, CM Sukhu, during a media interaction on Friday, pointed out that the state lacks an international-standard airport and called for the central government to bear the full cost of its construction. He also requested the Centre to fully fund the construction of the Bhanupalli-Beri and Chandigarh-Baddi railway lines.
Addressing concerns about the condition of the Solan-Parwanoo highway, CM Sukhu mentioned that he had already discussed the issue with Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, and requested a redesign and realignment of the highway to improve its condition.
Reaffirming the state government's commitment to enhancing living standards, CM Sukhu emphasized ongoing positive reforms aimed at improving governance, reducing administrative excess, and ensuring a more efficient, people-centric administration.
