Hindustan Aeronautics Wins ₹13,500 Crore Contract for 12 SU-30MKI Fighter Jets.

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has secured a major ₹13,500 crore contract from the Ministry of Defence (MoD) for the procurement of 12 Su-30MKI fighter jets along with associated equipment.

In a recent exchange filing, HAL highlighted that the order supports the government's 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat' initiative, with 62.6% of the aircraft’s components to be sourced from the Indian defence sector. The manufacturing of these advanced fighter jets will take place at HAL’s Nasik division.

The acquisition is set to enhance the operational capabilities of the Indian Air Force and further strengthen India’s defence preparedness, reflecting a significant step in advancing self-reliance in the country’s aerospace sector.
