"Hindustan Copper bags Baghwari-Khirkhori mining rights in MP, emerging as the top bidder for the strategic copper and mineral block."

State-owned Hindustan Copper Ltd (HCL) has emerged as the preferred bidder for the Baghwari–Khirkhori Copper and Associated Mineral Block in Madhya Pradesh, the company said.

HCL had participated in a Notice Inviting Tender dated October 31, 2025, issued by the Directorate of Geology and Mining, Government of Madhya Pradesh, for the grant of mining leases and composite licences in the state. The forward e-auction for the composite licence of the Baghwari–Khirkhori block was successfully concluded on January 22, 2026, the company said, adding that it received official communication on the outcome on Monday.

As HCL submitted the highest final price offer in the auction, it has been declared the preferred bidder for the mineral block, the company added.
