HPCL awards water treatment plant contract to L&T

Hindustan Petroleum Corp. Ltd. (HPCL) has awarded a contract to Larsen & Toubro Ltd. to provide work on integrated effluent treatment plant (IETP) as part of HPCL’s 8.3 million-tonne/year modernisation project at 0Vishakhapatnam.

Larsen & Toubro will deliver engineering, procurement, and construction for the IETP project, covering all modern technologies related to oil removal from refinery effluent, including the sequencing batch reactors (SBR)based treatment of 1,000 cu m/hr of refinery effluent, membrane bioreactor-(MBR)-based sewage treatment system, wet air oxidation-based spent caustic treatment system, and volatile organic compound control system.
