IBM to develop data centres for SSTL

Mumbai: IBM and MTS India, the mobile telephony services brand of Sistema Shyam TeleServices Limited (SSTL) have signed an IT services agreement under which IBM will design and build two green data centers for SSTL in Chennai and Gurgaon.

The data centre solution by IBM will offer facility to scale power and auto cool depending on the load.
IBM will also devlop a Network Operations Centre (NOC) to help the SSTL team monitor and manage applications and network in a 24/7 environment.

The Chennai site will be SSTL's main data centre whereas the centre in Gurgaon will serve as the disaster recovery site.

Presently, SSTL is expanding its services and plans to launch Pan-India telecom services in the coming months.
