"IHCL Expands Tamil Nadu Presence with Two New Hotels in Chennai"

Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has announced plans to develop two new hotels, Vivanta and Ginger, in Chennai’s Mahindra World City (MWC). The greenfield projects will be situated on a three-acre land parcel near Kolavai Lake, within the integrated business city.

Puneet Chhatwal, Managing Director and CEO of IHCL, remarked, “IHCL has had a presence in Chennai for over five decades. These new signings align with our strategy to expand into emerging micro-markets in key metros. Markets with planned industrial, residential, and social infrastructure present significant opportunities for multi-brand hospitality development. Both Vivanta and Ginger are strategically positioned to meet the diverse needs of this growing business hub.”

The Vivanta MWC will feature 100 rooms and suites, an all-day dining restaurant, a specialty restaurant with a bar, and a state-of-the-art wellness center including a gym and swimming pool. It will also offer versatile banquet space to cater to business and leisure guests.

The Ginger MWC, adhering to its signature lean luxe philosophy, will offer 200 contemporary rooms, an all-day dining area with a bar, a gym, and meeting facilities.

GP Subash, Founder and Director of Asbri Energy, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, saying, “We are thrilled to partner with IHCL to introduce the Vivanta and Ginger brands to Mahindra World City. These hotels will offer a unique blend of amenities and services, ideal for both business travelers and tourists.”

Mahindra World City, spanning 1,550 acres, is a prominent business district located within the Chennai-Bengaluru and Chennai-Vizag Industrial Corridors. It serves as a multi-sector Special Economic Zone and a major logistics hub for key industrial areas.

With these additions, IHCL will have 22 hotels in Tamil Nadu, with six more under development in the state.
