"Daikin India Launches Centre of Excellence at CUSAT"
Daikin India has established a new air-conditioning and HVAC lab at the Centre of Excellence (CoE) at Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT), supporting the Skill India Initiative. This facility aims to provide students with hands-on experience in advanced technologies, aligning with international standards. According to KJ Jawa, Chairman and Managing Director of Daikin India, the CoE model will be expanded to other institutions, offering state-of-the-art Daikin technologies, working models, and educational resources.
Earlier, Jawa also inaugurated Daikin India’s new office in Kochi, which he described as a significant move in the company’s strategy to increase its market presence.
Sanjay Goyal, Senior Vice President and Director of Daikin India, highlighted that the residential air conditioner sector is projected to grow robustly by 15-20% due to the current low adoption rate of 7-9% among urban Indian households, compared to 90% in developed countries. This growth is driven by a growing consumer preference for energy-efficient products with lower ownership costs.
