IMFA Acquires Tata Steel’s Odisha Ferro Chrome Plant for ₹610 Crore.

Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys (IMFA) has announced the acquisition of Tata Steel’s ferro chrome plant in Kalinganagar, Odisha, for ₹610 crore.

The company has signed definitive agreements for the transaction, which will add 99 MVA of furnace capacity - including 66 MVA operational and 33 MVA under construction — to its portfolio. With this addition, IMFA will become India’s largest ferro chrome producer and the sixth largest globally, with a total capacity exceeding 0.5 million tonnes.

The deal is subject to customary conditions and regulatory approvals and is expected to be completed within three months, the company said.
