IMFA Shares Update on Kalinganagar Expansion and Ethanol Project Timelines.

Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys Limited (IMFA), one of India’s leading fully integrated ferrochrome producers, has issued a detailed update on the progress of its key expansion projects, underscoring steady advancement despite global logistical headwinds.

In a statement signed by Chief Financial Officer Saunak Gupta, the company highlighted that its 100,000 tonnes per annum greenfield ferrochrome project at Kalinganagar is nearing completion. The facility, which includes two 33 MVA furnaces, is entering the final phase of development with clear commissioning timelines in sight.

Pre-commissioning activities for the first furnace are scheduled to begin in June 2026, while the second furnace is expected to reach the same stage by September 2026.

IMFA also confirmed the completion of its previously announced strategic acquisition in Kalinganagar. All four furnaces acquired as part of the transaction are now fully operational, strengthening the company’s production capacity in the region.

On the ethanol front, the company provided an update on its Therubali-based project, noting a slight delay in commissioning. The revised timeline has been attributed to slippages in equipment deliveries and broader disruptions linked to ongoing geopolitical tensions.

Erection work at the site is currently underway, with commissioning now expected in July 2026. Despite the delay, management emphasized that there will be no material impact on the company’s overall financial performance.

The update reflects IMFA’s continued focus on expanding capacity and diversifying operations while navigating external challenges.
